Metahuman Madness: George Skaggs
Hello everyone! So today I wanted to talk about the one issue I had when working this week, which was trying to figure out how to use Metahumans as a player model. The issues began when I first imported the Metahuman model that I had created for this project, where I noticed that Metahumans were actually split into several different parts. This made moving the model over to our player controllers that we had made a little bit harder because I personally never had worked with split models like this.
After getting the tree of models copied over, I worked on retargeting some Miximo animations onto the Metahuman, this took a while to learn but wasnt too bad, until I decided to start trying my animations in engine:
This took some work to get the model to properly animate. (Turns out I had to add an animation to each part of the model) Here are some extra fails that happened during this:
Luckily in the end though, I got the animation working! Surprisingly this was the only thing that slowed me down this week!
